Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île is a 5 star hotel from the group Accor. I am sometimes a little bit reluctant with hotel chains, which are sometimes too cold and impersonal for my own taste. However, this is not the case here, as the Sofitel Strasbourg has its own personality. It’s a very beautiful place that I had a chance to discover during a lunch and where I wanted to go back to spend the night. I wasn’t disappointed!
Atmosphere at Sofitel Strasbourg
I really enjoyed the decoration at Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île. The lobby is an elegant and peaceful place, where it is nice to read a book for example. The hotel also has a patio with… vines! Yes, you are not dreaming: the seven Alsatian grape varieties are all represented. You can have a drink there, on the terrace, among vines: it’s quite unusual in the city center of Strasbourg!
My room was a luxury room and was really pretty. Spacious (24 m2), with a king size bed, it was extremely comfortable. In the bathroom, you can find products from the line Eau d’orange verte of Hermès. I love them!
Service-wise, nothing to say: everything was perfect.
Breakfast at Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île
The breakfast buffet at Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île is amazing. There is a wide selection of delicious products for everyone, with for example a gluten-free section. In addition to the common breakfast buffets dishes (pastries, cereals, eggs…), Sofitel Strasbourg offers patisseries, smoothies, a wellness buffet with vegetable juices from the garden, an Alsatian buffet… These small details make all the difference for the breakfast buffet, as well as does quality of course! There is no problem with quality here, everything was delicious. Only the kouglof was a bit dry.
Restaurant Terroir & Co
Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île has a very good French food restaurant. It is available everyday for lunch and dinner and the value for money is really good. The setting of Terroir and Co is elegant and intimate.
Sofitel Strasbourg is very well located: in the city center of Strasbourg, on the îlot central, it is only a 3-minutes walk from Place Kléber.
