The best tea and coffee shops in Mulhouse (or at least my favorites!)

by | Updated on 4/03/2023 | Cafes and tearooms, Mulhouse | 0 comments

Mulhouse has a number of charming cafés and tea rooms where you can take a pleasant break while enjoying a good piece of cake. I haven’t tried all the addresses yet (at all!) but I’m starting this article with two good addresses, waiting to complete it as I discover them! 🙂

Le Temps d’une Pause – Reading café and concept store

mulhouse-cafe-time-a-break

Le Temps d’une pause, located in the heart of downtown Mulhouse, is one of my favorite cafés in Alsace. Yes, even if there are very good cafés in Strasbourg and Colmar, this one remains my favorite. Part tea room, part café, part boutique, it’s one of the coziest places I know.

My great pleasure is to come and work here. I can spend long hours on one of the big comfy sofas, with my computer on my lap, working while sipping a few cups of good Nunshen tea (the other option being to read the magazines provided… Good too!). If sofas are not your thing, there are also tables that can accommodate small and large groups.

The atmosphere is warm and the decoration, in a rather eclectic style, is very successful. The glass roof above the sofas (my favorite place, you will have understood) allows a beautiful light. Finally, the store area is full of pretty little designer items.

On the menu, good coffees, teas, hot chocolates, fresh fruit juices as well as some pastries (which are not homemade but correct).

Add to this a friendly and smiling welcome and you have the ideal place to work / meet friends / enjoy a quiet break alone! In short, you will have understood, Le Temps d’une Pause is a favorite!

I liked

  • Decoration and ultra warm atmosphere
  • Good tea, coffee, chocolate and fruit juice
  • Very friendly welcome
  • Lots of nice things in the store
  • Open on Sunday afternoon

I liked less

  • The pastries are not homemade. They are okay but not wonderful.

Practical information

My bill

6€90 for a long coffee and a piece of apricot cake.

Schedules

Here you will find the schedule of the café Le temps d’une pause.

Café Mozart – Elegance and fine pastries

cafe-mozart-mulhouse

The Café Mozart is an institution in Mulhouse. Located on the second floor on the Place de la Réunion, it’s a quiet and elegant tea room (although a little cold for my taste) that enjoys a nice view on the square and the Saint-Etienne temple.

For those who love fine pastries, Café Mozart offers the excellent cakes of the Pâtisserie Jacques located a few meters away. The choice is vast (and difficult) and we literally enjoy ourselves. So much so that the portions seem a little small!

As for drinks, there is a wide choice of very good Damman teas, several homemade hot chocolates, pressed fruit juices and of course coffees. You can also drink soft drinks, beers and wines: the Mozart is not only a café but also a restaurant open at lunchtime.

Little more, Café Mozart is one of the kid-friendly addresses in Mulhouse selected by my friend Tiphanya.

I liked

  • Excellent fine pastries
  • Dammann Brothers teas in bulk
  • View on the Place de la Réunion

I liked less

  • Decoration and reception a little cold

Practical information

My bill

6€70 for a Dammann tea and a small raspberry charlotte.

Schedules

Here you can find the opening hours of Café Mozart. To access it, note that you must enter the mall and go upstairs.
