Cycling to the restaurant Les Amis de la Lauch in Colmar

Looking for nature without getting out of Colmar? The restaurant Les Amis de la Lauch is maybe what you are looking for! Located in the Maraîchers district, it is a very pleasant place: you will feel like you are in the countryside, and this just only minutes away from Colmar town center. No wonder that the people of Colmar love going there on beautiful days, to enjoy the large terrace next to the pond.

You will find on the menu rather traditional dishes, as well as simple but tasty food. Prices are a little bit high, but it is an original place to have a good time. Do not forget to book, as the restaurant is often full!

You can go to Les Amis de la Lauch on foot, by car or by bike. I have chosen to introduce you to this last option, with a loop itinerary from Colmar town center (see map below). It is a really nice ride and it is also a great way to get to the restaurant!

It’s a 25 minutes bike ride (6 km) one way: it is not the shortest way, but it takes you through Neuland’s forest. On the way back, take the most direct route, which is about a 10 minutes ride (2 km). Those of you wishing to walk to the restaurant from the town center can easily follow this path.

If you wish to extend the ride a little bit on the way there, I have marked on the map a path you can take for a round trip, before joining again the loop: it follows the river and fields and leads to the village of Herrlisheim-près-Colmar.

I liked

  • The countryside, only 10 minutes away by bike from Colmar town center!
  • Simple, but tasty food
  • Warm welcome

I liked a little less

  • It is not easy to find… except if you follow my directions! 😉

The address of Les Amis de la Lauch is as follows: 80 chemin Lauchwerb, Colmar.

Here is my proposed bike itinerary. The departure and arrival point is located Rue de Turenne, in the Little Venice district.

Hello. Thank you so much for this. I did the whole trail and it was great to be able to walk in the nature so close to colmar. And having a route to follow really helped. The complete trail just seems much longer than the 6km + 2km, but maybe I didn’t understand correctly. Either way I prefer longer trails so it was great:)
    Thank you.
