Looking for a nature gite but not far from the tourist activities of Alsace? The Gîtes Chez Louison could please you! Located between vineyards and mountains in Fréland, the Gîtes Chez Louison have been fitted out in an old small farm. Surrounded by a huge plot of land, it is really quiet: no risk of being disturbed by the neighbors! Martine and Marc, the friendly owners, have completely renovated this place themselves, after having taken care of their house located a few dozen meters below. A photo album is available in the gîtes, which allows you to see the extent of the work done.

Chez Louison consists of two gites located in the same house but not communicating and well separated. We enter from different sides of the house. The first gîte, the Mélèze gîte, is arranged on two floors and can accommodate between 4 and 6 people. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a sofa bed. The second gîte, the Douglas gîteBoth gîtes are on the same level and can accommodate 2 people. Both gîtes have a washing machine and a comfortably equipped kitchen: dishwasher, coffee machine, oven, microwave, toaster, etc… Moreover, the household linen and towels are provided. Finally, they each have a terrace. Having had the chance to spend a sunny afternoon there, I guarantee you that it is very pleasant!

The decoration of the gîtes has kept the spirit of the original mountain farmhouse while adding, of course, all the modern comfort! Ambiance wood, stone and red and cream fabrics, it is rustic just as it should be to enjoy the scenery of a mountain atmosphere 🙂

Location

Fréland is located on the heights of the Kaysersberg Valley. We are in the mountains, which allows us to have access to many hiking trails and to the Lac Blanc resort, but we can also easily reach Kaysersberg (25 minutes by car from the gite) and the Alsace Wine Route. This location is to be preferred if you want to enjoy the nature and mountain aspect in priority, but will not prevent you from going to make some escapades in the vineyard or in Colmar (40 minutes by car from the gite), for example!

I liked

  • Pleasant and comfortable lodgings
  • Quiet natural setting
  • Friendly welcome
  • Location between mountains and vineyards

I liked less

  • The last part of the access road is steep and chaotic (do not go there in winter without snow tires!)
  • Electric pole in front of the house that spoils the view
