I know, you like to find good accommodation plans when you come to Alsace… So I found one for you in Strasbourg! It is the Etc Hotel in Strasbourg, a 2 star hotel located in the city center, on the Grande Île. It is a very simple hotel but I tell you about it because I find its location top, its decoration much nicer than chain hotels and its very good quality ratio. Prices are rising fast in the heart of Strasbourg and you may want to be ideally located without paying too much, so here is a good solution!

Rooms of the Etc Hotel in Strasbourg

The rooms of the Etc Hotel in Strasbourg are all decorated differently on themes such as stone, wood, pebbles… The name of each room reflects its interior design. For my part, I tested the Pierre room and it’s the one you’ll see on the pictures: a decor a little cold for my taste but nevertheless rather elegant. The room was a standard size, with a small bathroom (more like a powder room actually) and a separate toilet. Very good for the price! Moreover the bed was very comfortable.

The hotel has not only double rooms but also singles, triples and quadruples! This can be really economical…

The whole hotel is a bit dark because of its location a bit set back from the street, but it is an advantage to not have noise. The common areas are nicely decorated as well.

Breakfast

The breakfast is simple but quite complete: various breads, pastries, yoghurts, fruit salad, cereals and even a little cheese and ham. The jams served are the excellent Confitures du Climont, produced in Alsace and awarded several times!

Location

The location of the Hotel Etc is truly ideal. It is located on the Grande Île of Strasbourg, a few minutes walk from the cathedral, Petite France and Place Kléber. Difficult to find better, especially since the hotel is still quiet. It is located slightly back from the street, which is ideal.

I liked

  • Location in the center of Strasbourg
  • Very good quality-price ratio
  • Different decoration in each room
  • Single, double, triple and quadruple rooms

I liked less

  • A little dark
  • On the first floor and without elevator

Access

By car

The address is: 7 rue de la Chaîne 67000 Strasbourg.

It is not easy to park nearby, as the Grande Île of Strasbourg is almost entirely pedestrian. The closest paid parking lots are Gutenberg and Kléber (but 44€ for 24 hours!) and Austerlitz (20€ for 24 hours), which is a 10-minute walk away. Otherwise, I advise you to leave your car at a parking relay (between 4 and 5€ a day) and then take the streetcar to go to the city, it’s super fast. More info here on parking relay.

By public transport

Streetcar A or D, station “Grand Rue” (3 stations from the station, it’s very fast).
