I love warm and inviting tea rooms, where you can enjoy a good tea or coffee with a slice of cake. I love to go with friends or with my mom when she comes to visit in Alsace.

This is how I’ve become quite the expert in finding good addresses! And I must say that I’m quite impressed with Sélestat: it’s a small town, but there are very original spots! Here is my selection of the best cafés and tea rooms in Sélestat.

Don’t hesitate also to have a look at my selection of cafes in Strasbourg and in Colmar

Libellule - Wonders, curiosities and treats

libellule-cafe-selestat

La Libellule is quite a particular place in Sélestat: it is both a store and a café. In the store, you will find a lot of pretty creations by Emmanuelle, the owner, who is passionate about sewing (she can also make what you want, made to measure!). You'll also find other small decoration objects, all exclusively made in France.

I first discovered the world of Libellule on Instagram and decided straight away to go and have a look... I wasn't disappointed and it's super cute!

Small tables are installed in the middle of the store, and it's therefore possible to have tea with a slice of homemade patisserie. It's perfect for a good time with friends!

I liked

  • Adorable store
  • Friendly welcome
  • Homemade patisseries

I liked a little less

  • Nothing!

Galerie Café La Ligne Bleue

ligne-bleue-selestat-galerie-cafe

Here is another surprising place! La Galerie La Ligne Bleue is both a café and a contemporary art gallery, located in an old 17th-century granary, occupying a space of 250m2.

You can start by visiting the gallery space, before entering the café side, which is a real Ali Baba's Cave! The decoration is a bit much, as there are objects everywhere, but there is so much charm to it!

It's a real pleasure to sit down for tea or for a delicious fruit juice served with cake. The hardest thing will be to choose, but the server will be happy to give more details about them, one by one. It's a great and unique spot in Sélestat!

I liked

  • A beautiful mix between contemporary art, second-hand objects and coffee
  • Good cakes
  • Pleasant atmosphere

I liked a little less

  • Nothing!

Tea Room La Maison du Pain d'Alsace

beignets-pommes-selestat

La Maison du Pain d'Alsace is an institution in Sélestat. It is a bakery, equipped with a bakerhouse for display, a museum space and a small corner for the tea room! Considering all there is to try and savour at La Maison du Pain, we can only rejoice.

You'll be able to choose what you wan to eat in the bakery, and then sit at a table with a hot or cold drink. It's not huge, but it's been well built. It's quite pleasant, even though it could be a bit more inviting. In any case, it's delicious!

I liked

  • Delicious bread, cakes and biscuits
  • It's possible to chat with the bakers and see them work
  • The tea room corner

I liked a little less

  • The decoration of the tea room is a bit cold
