Les Ecrins Guest House is a charming guest house located in Orbey, on the heights of the Kaysersberg Valley. and in the heart of the Welche region. A rather ideal situation in any season since one can as well go easily on the Alsace Wine Route as decide to go to the Vosges, on the Route des Crêtes or to the station of the White Lake, for example!

The house of Ecrins is a superb 1900’s building full of charm which has been entirely renovated by Sébastien and Patrick, the very nice couple of owners. The work they have done is incredible and the result extremely successful. Combining original elements (especially the period tiles, the staircase and the parquet floor) and modern elements, the decoration is both elegant and warm. The kind of place where you feel good right away! On a chilly fall day, I particularly appreciated being greeted by the flames of a wood stove giving a delightful atmosphere to the dining room and living room…The evening was looking good, which was confirmed afterwards! This place is a real favorite.

My room in Ecrins

The rooms at Ecrins are all named after a precious stone and decorated accordingly. My room was the Celestine, a blue stone reputed to bring calm and comfort. In any case, the room is a success: it invites you to relax! The room is spacious (24m2), comfortable (special mention for the excellent bedding) and very quiet despite the street nearby. On sunny days, it is possible to enjoy a private terrace. A small Alsatian attention, you will find pretzels in a small basket, in case of small hunger.

The bathroom, with shower, is not huge but pleasant, well arranged and the WC separated.

Breakfast in the guest room Les Ecrins

The Ecrins breakfast is simply excellent. You will find a large choice of sweet and salty products, all from local producers or homemade: pastries, bread, cold cuts, cheese, kouglof, jams, apple juice, fresh fruit salad… We bet you’ll leave having eaten too much, because everything is so delicious? 😉

Spa and well-being in the Ecrins

Les Ecrins has a jacuzzi located on the garden terrace and can accommodate 4 people. There is no extra charge, but you should remember to reserve a time slot to use it at the same time as booking your room, so you can be sure to take advantage of it!

In addition, Patrick offers various treatments in addition, on reservation. They take place in a dedicated room on the 2nd floor of the house. Two types of massage are offered: a Breuss massage, for the back and spine in particular, and an Ayurvedic massage, for the whole body. Patrick also offers Reiki sessions, a discipline that allows the transmission of energy by laying on of hands. More information on the treatments offered here.

Location

Orbey is a small village leaning against the Vosges Mountains, on the heights of the Kaysersberg Valley. The village itself has no particular charm but it is very well located. From Orbey, you can easily reach not only the Wine Route (Kaysersberg is less than 15 minutes away) but also the Vosges mountains. The Lac Blanc resort is also 15 minutes away.

Les Ecrins is located on the edge of a road but the house is very well insulated and therefore quiet.
