Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île – 5 star hotel in Strasbourg

The Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île is a 5 star hotel of the Accor group. I am sometimes a bit reluctant with chain hotels, too cold and impersonal for my taste. This is not the case here, the Sofitel Strasbourg has its own personality. It’s a very nice place that I had the opportunity to discover during a lunch and where I really wanted to return to spend the night. I was not disappointed!

Atmosphere of the Sofitel Strasbourg

I really liked the decoration of the Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île. The lobby is an elegant and peaceful place, where it is pleasant to sit and read quietly. The hotel also has a patio in which there are…vines! Yes, you are not dreaming, the 7 Alsatian grape varieties are worthily represented here. You can have a drink on the terrace in the middle of the vineyards: rather unusual in the heart of Strasbourg!

My room, a luxury room, was very nice. Spacious (24 m2), with an extremely comfortable king size bed. In the bathroom, Eau d’orange verte by Hermès. I love it!

As for the service, nothing to say: it was perfect.

Breakfast at the Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île

The breakfast buffet at the Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île is superb. It offers a wide choice of delicious products adapted to everyone since it includes a gluten-free section for example. In addition to the classic dishes found in breakfast buffets (pastries, cereals, eggs…), the Sofitel Strasbourg offers a few pastries, smoothies, a wellness buffet with vegetable juice from the garden, an Alsatian buffet…These are the little details that make the difference on a breakfast buffet, in addition to the quality of course! No worries on this side, everything was delicious. My only complaint is the kouglof, which I found too dry.

Restaurant Terroir and Co

The Sofitel Strasbourg Grande Île has a very good French cuisine restaurant, Terroir and Co. It is in my selection of good addresses of restaurants in Strasbourg.

The Sofitel Strasbourg is very well located. In the heart of downtown Strasbourg, on the central block, we are 3 minutes walk from Place Kléber.
