Spring market in Colmar

Every year during Easter, is held the Colmar Spring Market. What is the idea behind this market? It’s a bit similar as Christmas markets, but also a bit smaller and displaying spring colors.

Small wooden chalets are installed on two squares in the town of Colmar (place des Dominicains et place de l’Ancienne Douane) and they host exhibitors selected for the quality and originality of their products. You’ll find there a bit of everything: food, alcohol, household linens, tea, flowers, beauty products, toys, decorative objects… It’s quite nice! The only risk is to leave with armloads of products: you can easily get tempted by all these tasty/pretty things!

Beyond chalets, my favorite thing is definitely town decorations: vibrant flower beds, cuddly toys, wooden figurines, Easter eggs, areas for animals (sheep, goats, rabbits, chickens…) The whole is very nice! A cheerful and colorful atmosphere, ideal to go for a walk and spend a nice time with your family.

In addition to the Spring market, Colmar also organizes three exhibit and sale events, a music festival, Alsace wine tasting at Colmar winegrowers and street  performances… There is no doubt, we know how to celebrate the arrival of Spring in Colmar!

I liked

  • Delightful decorations on the themes of Easter and Spring
  • Perfect for the whole family
  • A lot of nice products in the chalets

I liked a little less

  • Nothing!
