Are you looking for an outdoor activity to do with your family near Colmar? I think I have just the thing for you: the Form’Aventures climbing park, located in Schnepfenried in the Valley of Munster. The Schnepfenried is a ski resort in the Alsatian Vosges located at 1000 m altitude. You might as well say that you have a very nice view of the surrounding mountains! The adventure park is located in the heart of the resort and offers, in addition to tree climbing, mountain biking, hiking, archery, Nordic walking, snowshoeing… And even tree climbing (climbing holds have been fixed on trees).
Severaltree climbing courses of different levels are offered: three children’s courses, one green, two blue, one red, one black and a “360° panoramic” course. Something for kids and adults of all levels! The panoramic course is original: mainly composed of zip lines (there are 13) and aerial (20 m from the ground), it allows to go around the park. You can also enjoy beautiful views of the mountains. Impressive but great!
The park is equipped with a continuous lifeline system, which avoids the need to constantly detach and reattach carabiners. We hook up her lanyard at the beginning of the course and she follows us to the end without any further intervention. Really practical and safe! In case of problems, one of the monitors on the ground can intervene. The friend who tested the park with me got stuck in the middle of a zip line (the highest one, otherwise it’s not funny) because she missed her arrival and someone came to get her in 5 minutes. It’s reassuring!

By car
The address is as follows: Schnepfenried Station 68380 Sondernach. The resort and the park are well signposted from the Valley of Munster. You have to count:
- 35 km from Colmar (about 55 minutes)
- 56 km from Mulhouse (about 1h10)
- 110 km from Strasbourg (about 1h45)
By public transport
This is not possible 🙁
Hungry?
If you are hungry, there are several restaurants in the resort. The Panoramic restaurant (I haven’t tried it yet) and the Ferme-auberge Deybach a little further (which I highly recommend!). It is also possible to take advantage of the yurt located in the Form aventures park to have a picnic (on the condition that you buy a drink) or, if you are a group, to have a meal or to celebrate a birthday for example (on reservation).
