La Villa du Coteau, bed and breakfast in Obernai

The Villa du Coteau is a bed and breakfast located in Obernai, on the Alsace Wine Route, in a house dating from the end of the 19th century which has been entirely renovated by Nicolas and Hoby, its friendly owners. After several years spent in Shanghai, where they met, the couple wanted to carry out another project and settled in Alsace, Nicolas’ home region, to create the Villa du Coteau. A chance for this house, which has been completely restored after 9 months of work, and for the visitors who have the chance to stay there!

The place is very pleasant, with a large living room and a small veranda area. The mixture of old and new is very successful: for example, a masterly wooden staircase and contemporary paintings coexist. A sober and elegant decoration that I liked very much and that gives a great charm to this guest house.

The welcome is warm and the owners have good advice on restaurants and visits in the area. Don’t hesitate to ask them!

My room at the Villa du Coteau

I stayed in the superior Panorama 1 room, a spacious 23m2 room with a balcony, and was able to visit a few other rooms. Generally speaking, the rooms of the Villa du Coteau are spacious since the smallest is 19m2, which is already very reasonable. My room was very comfortable, with quality bedding and an open bathroom with a large shower (with separate toilet). Pretty and nice!

Big positive point for this room: the panorama! The view on the roofs of Obernai, with the Vosges in the background (we can even see the Mont Sainte-Odile), is really beautiful!

Breakfast

The breakfast offered at the Villa du Coteau is copious and of good quality. It is served on the large table located in the living room, together with the other guests. Freshly squeezed orange juice, a wide selection of teas, coffee, cold cuts, cheese, cereals, yoghurts, fresh fruit salad, bread and pastries… We enjoy it!

Before your arrival, Nicolas and Hoby send you an email to know if you have any food allergies: if you are for example gluten intolerant, they will order special bread from the baker for your stay! Particularly attentive.

Location

La Villa du Coteau is located on the heights ofObernai while being very close to the city center. We are in the heart of the city center in 5 minutes on foot while benefiting from a very pretty view on the roofs of the city and the Vosges in background. Nice!
