The Cube of Colmar is a rather unusual place. It is a building built in the 90s by the Colmar architect Emmanuel Lenys and representing a dove about to fly away. The space was first used as a corporate headquarters, then for various activities before being transformed into a seasonal rental in 2016. The Cube is located in a residential area, a stone’s throw from the heart of downtown: it takes only 5 minutes to walk to Little Venice. It is a really original and nice house to spend your vacations in Colmar !
I must say that I was very intrigued when I saw the pictures of the building: it is not common to convert such volumes to seasonal rental: the bet was daring. The challenge was met perfectly, however, and the Cube is now a spacious and comfortable 150m2 home. The decoration, in a “Palm Spring” style, is really successful. It’s a very original approach that I really appreciated. We can see that every little detail of decoration has been thought of!
The Cube has three bedrooms (one huge and two of already very good size!), two bathrooms, a large kitchen-dining room, a huge living room and a terrace. The least we can say is that you will have a brightness and a feeling of space out of the ordinary… Between the size of the rooms, the height of the ceiling and the large glass roof, the whole is superb! Only the size of the bathrooms is rather small: this is the small defect of the Cube in my opinion.
The Cube’s living room is equipped with a really huge TV, perfect for a movie night (a DVD player and DVDs are available) or karaoke (yes, that’s also provided!). The kitchen is not left out, with a very complete equipment (dishwasher, Nespresso machine…). There is just no washing machine for the moment (but I’m told it’s in the works…).
Karin will make sure that you have a pleasant stay, with little touches such as a welcome bottle of wine in the refrigerator.
