Our house dates back to 1800. This is a traditional Alsatian half-timbered house, which has the particularity of having… Blue shutters, which is not so common in Alsace! His name was quickly found.

Location of the Blue Shutters

Quatzenheim is a small village (800 inhabitants) typically Alsatian, which has beautiful half-timbered houses and very beautiful Alsatian farms. It is located in the Kochersberg, a region nicknamed “The breadbasket of Alsace” because of its numerous agricultural lands. It is also said that Louis XIV exclaimed “What a beautiful garden!” while admiring the hilly landscape of the Kochersberg.

From the village, you are 15 minutes from Strasbourg train station by car, 20 minutes from the center of Strasbourg and 10 minutes from the beginning of the Alsace Wine Route in Marlenheim. Obernai is only half an hour away and Colmar 1 hour.

There are very good traditional restaurants in the area (this is where you can find the best tarts flambées in Alsace!). Don’t hesitate to ask me for advice!

Our rooms in the home

We can accommodate between 1 and 4 people in our house. We live in the house but we propose to rent the entire 2nd floor, located in the attic, which has been completely renovated. So we can meet and talk if you want (we’ll be happy to give you tips on how to organize your stay!), but you really have your privacy.

The 2nd floor we offer is composed of:

  • The grey room with a double bed (140×200), facing the garden
  • The red room with two single beds (80×200) that can be moved closer together on request, facing the street
  • A small bathroom with shower, sink and toilet (the two rooms are only rented to people coming together. If you rent for two people, the second room will not be rented and you will not share the bathroom with anyone)
  • A lounge area with DVD player, desk, Nespresso coffee machine, kettle, DVDs, guides on Alsace and board games
  • Wifi available on the entire floor.
  • Cotton satin sheets, towels, soap and shampoo are provided

In addition, you can use our kitchen to prepare your meals if you wish. Our large garden and its terrace are also freely accessible.

Our ambition is that the people we welcome really feel at home and adopt the rhythm that they like, whether it is for the comings and goings, the use of the kitchen or the breakfast time…

Breakfast

I’m not always here for breakfast but you will find the table set up as well as something to enjoy a good breakfast in the spaces dedicated to our guests in the fridge and kitchen cupboards: fresh bread, pastries, yoghurts, butter, jams, apple juice, coffee, tea… Mostly organic products from local producers from nearby farms. Just help yourself and make yourself at home! 🙂

If you have a vegan or gluten-free diet, just let me know in advance and I will adapt.
