My summary

  • The fabulous jams
  • The pastries
  • The simplicity and authenticity of the place and the welcome
  • Nothing!

The queen of jams

Christine Ferber is the“jam fairy“: this is the nickname given to her by the press. Its jams are known worldwide and served in the greatest Parisian palaces. When I moved to Alsace, it was one of the first “good addresses” I was given.

The first time I dipped a spoon into one of Christine Ferber’s jam jars, I knew right away that I couldn’t live without it. It’s simple, I’ve never had better: it’s a real explosion of flavors. A little moment of happiness!

Christine Ferber prepares her jams in copper cauldrons, using fresh produce and following a meticulous process: the fruit is harvested when ripe, often from local farms, then macerated for several hours before being cooked quickly to preserve its taste and nutritional properties. Each stage is carried out with care and precision, a skill that Christine Ferber has been perfecting for decades. It’s not for nothing that her confitires can be found on the tables of the most prestigious hotels and restaurants!

A family grocery store

These high quality jams are made by hand in the pretty little village of Niedermorschwihr, not far from Colmar on the Alsace Wine Route. Christine Ferber’s store is also located here. I was very surprised by the simplicity of the place considering the celebrity of its owner.

The Relais des Trois Epis is a family grocery store in the village where you can find, besides jams, bread, pastries, vegetables, newspapers, earthenware dishes, cold cuts, cake moulds, cookbooks, ice creams… A very surprising mix that gives a lot of charm to the place! The place is authentic and the welcome warm. You can tell that success hasn’t gone to Christine Ferber‘s head, which is very pleasant.

Jams, chocolates and pastries

Christine Ferber and her team don’t just make jams. I particularly recommend their chocolates and pastries, which are also well worth a visit! Whether you’re looking for a gift idea for someone, or a souvenir to bring back from your stay in Alsace, I think you’ll find something here to satisfy you…
