Where to buy the best kouglof in Colmar?

Where to buy the best kouglof in Colmar? I propose you here my two best addresses proposing the best kougelhopfs of Colmar according to me: they are both excellent. You can choose to have them sprinkled with powdered sugar or not. Stop by the bakery early in the morning when they come out of the oven, it’s even better!

If you think kugelhopf is dry, go try one of these and you might change your mind. This has nothing to do with what is often sold in very touristy stores…Click here to see also my selection of the best kougelhopfs in Strasbourg.

The kouglof is to be eaten immediately or to be brought back as a souvenir of your weekend in Alsace, without waiting too long so that it doesn’t dry out!

Of course you can also make it yourself: here is a recipe for homemade kougelhopf.

Small spelling point: you can write kouglof or kougelhopf, you will find both.

My guide to Colmar

Plan an unforgettable stay in Colmar without wasting time looking for information with my guidebook : the most beautiful places, the activities not to be missed and the best addresses!

Gilg Pastry Shop

The Gilg pastry shop is very famous in Colmar. There is also an excellent and very soft kougelhopf that I recommend. The grapes are macerated in kirsch brandy, the taste of which is not very strong. A very good address in Colmar in the heart of the city, close to the Little Venice.
