Video summary
On the Saar from Sarrewerden to Sarre-Union
Departure from the Moulin de Sarrewerden. Once you’ve donned your lifejacket, you settle into the boat, which can accommodate a small group of around ten people. We’re soon cut off from the rest of the world, slowly making our way along the Saar. The boat used is no longer a flat-bottomed wooden boat as in the past, but a plastic one… Less charm, to be sure, but apparently easier to handle and maintain!

All is quiet, and all you can hear are the birds and the gentle sound of the boat gliding along the water. As the boat’s motor is electric, it’s really quiet and doesn’t bother at all (bearing in mind that I’m particularly sensitive to this kind of noise!). We’re really immersed in a green setting: all around us, green, green, green! The trees reflecting on the water are a particularly beautiful sight.

As we float along, our guide tells us all about the Saar and explains a lot about the surrounding nature: its fauna, its flora, its history… It’s a really interesting and educational way to spend a relaxing and instructive time! What’s more, the walk is suitable for the whole family, as children aged 3 and over are welcome.

The 2-hour boat trip takes you from Sarrewerden to Sarre-Union. Even if it’s a round trip, there’s never a dull moment, because there’s always something new to admire, a new perspective to observe. Beautiful and soothing!

Themed walks
A variety of walks on different themes are on offer: tales and legends, beavers, bats, gourmet walks… Among others! Walks also take place at different times of the day, so you can enjoy the beauty of the river at sunset, for example. So you can choose the ride that suits you best, depending on the day of course.

Things to do nearby
You can easily combine your boat trip with other activities in Alsace Bossue: a rail bike tour, a bike tour, or a visit to the Villa.
