Video overview
Introducing East Park
Located in the Trois Frontières region, East Park is easily accessible, whether you’re coming from Mulhouse, Basel or Freiburg. It’s a place where you can both relax and try out water sports. Wakeboarding, paddle or aquapark, there’s something for everyone.
I have to say I was a little scared when I arrived, as East Park is located right next to an aggregate extraction facility. The whole thing forms the Bartenheim gravel pit, part of which has been converted to accommodate East Park. It’s industrial, massive, noisy and dusty. Not an ideal setting!
However, once I got there, I was pleasantly surprised: it’s a change of scenery, you quickly forget about the nearby extraction and it’ s almost like being at the beach! With its sand, palm trees and wooden paths, East Park has been very well laid out and successful. Hats off to you!

What to do on site
Wakepark
This is thesite’s flagship activity. Thanks to the electric water ski lift, you can try your hand at wakeboarding, kneeboarding or water skiing. The site is well suited to beginners (starting with kneeboarding, which allows you to be on your knees rather than standing up) and more experienced riders alike. From the age of 8, you can take to the water and test your first gliding sensations.

Aquapark
Set up on part of the lake, this inflatable course is open to children aged 6 and over. Slides, jumps, balancing acts: a lot of fun for the whole family or just a few friends.

Stand-up paddle
For those who prefer a more leisurely activity, stand-up paddling is a good option. It’s the one I chose, by the way 😛 You glide gently over the water, and the sensation is pleasant. Even if it’s limited to a small area, it’s still a great way to learn, have fun and unwind!

Catering and relaxation
East Park has two dining areas , which I didn’t try out. La Terrasse offers simple dishes such as burgers, tarts flambées and salads, while the beach bar “Chez Albert” serves cold drinks, cocktails and aperitif platters. The atmosphere is relaxed, with live music… And apparently some wild parties! 😉

Ideas nearby
East Park can be combined with other activities in the Saint-Louis area, such as a trip to the Petite Camargue Alsacienne, the Parc des Eaux Vives d’Huningue (or another water sports activity), a visit to the Fernet-Branca Foundation, Landskron Castle or nearby Basel. Enough to easily fill a varied weekend!
