Organic, Vegetarian, and Vegan Restaurants in Colmar: My Top 3

There aren’t many organic, vegetarian, and vegan restaurants in Colmar, but there are some excellent options. Between L'Arpège, a true semi-gourmet institution; the Luser Stub, a charming hidden gem; and Cuit Lu Cru, the 100% plant-based option at the Marché Couvert, you have three very different ways to enjoy organic and plant-based dining in Colmar.

L’Arpège – An organic restaurant in the heart of Colmar
I liked
- Delicious cuisine that does not forget the vegetarians
- Friendly welcome
- Nice terrace in summer
I liked less
- It’s hard to get a table without reserving well in advance; the dining room is small and the restaurant is very popular.
L’Arpège is a well-known organic restaurant in Colmar— it’s a true institution! It’s located in the heart of Colmar’s old town, in a charming building set slightly back from the street. The dining room has a cozy atmosphere, with its warm colors and exposed ceiling beams. On the garden side, its lovely, quiet terrace is perfect for the warmer months.

On the plate, you’ll find delicious cuisine made with fresh, organic, and seasonal ingredients, and a menu that changes daily. A few vegetarian dishes are available, though they don’t make up the majority of the menu. There’s plenty to enjoy… In fact, the restaurant is often packed—and that’s no coincidence!
🍽️ Local tip: Make a reservation several days in advance, especially if you want to enjoy the patio in the summer—it’s one of the most popular spots in the old town.

The Luser Stub – Lunch Just Like at Home
I liked
- Delicious homemade vegetarian dishes
- The warm welcome: It felt like I was going to my grandmother’s house for lunch!
I liked less
- Reservations are required, and credit cards are not accepted; it’s best to bring cash.
Luser Stub is a small, rather unique organic and vegetarian restaurant in Colmar. The owner, Odile Krieg, cooks for you as if she were welcoming you into her home (which, in fact, she is—the dining room is located on the ground floor of her house!) on Wednesdays and Fridays at lunchtime, by reservation only.

The menu features delicious vegetarian dishes, all homemade with seasonal organic ingredients. With the three-course meal (appetizer, main course, and dessert), you can choose from several appetizers and desserts, but there’s only one main course. That’s not a problem—it’s a treat!
🍽️ Local tip: Odile, the owner, once went and looked up her rum baba recipe in her personal notebook just to give it to me—a kind gesture that really captures the spirit of this place.

Cuit Lu Cru – The Vegetable Touch at the Marché Couvert
I liked
- Delicious, thoughtfully crafted vegan cuisine
- Gluten-free options available
- The unique setting right in the middle of the covered market
I liked less
- The booth is small, and the space can quickly get crowded during the market’s peak hours
Want to take a 100% vegan break in the heart of Colmar’s covered market? Head to Cuit Lu Cru, a small organic stand that delights fans of plant-based cuisine, with gluten-free options for those who need them. I’ve tried it several times: the food is fresh and truly delicious.
🥗 Local tip: The stand is small, and the seats fill up quickly around noon. Arrive a little before noon to make sure you get a seat, or opt for takeout if it’s full.
