Electric motorcycle ride on the Wine Route

Who has never dreamed of climbing on a motorcycle and going on an adventure? Okay, I digress, this isn't a movie, and safety comes first... However, getting a taste of this sensation is now easily accessible thanks to Éric and his electric motorcycle rental in Sélestat, Alsace!
My summary
I liked
- An innovative way to discover tourism
I liked less

Electric motorcycle rental in Selestat
When I was asked to try out the Wattrider concept, I said yes without hesitation, as I love testing new things! Then, as the big day approached, I vacillated between the excitement of rediscovering the sensations of a teenager on a motorbike/scooter and the hesitation that maybe it’s not for me anymore.
So here I am in Sélestat, in a computer repair store, in front of the manager who explains that he diversified his business a few months ago, in line with his passion for motorcycles and his environmental awareness. This is followed by the all-important administrative formalities (rental contract, credit card imprint and photo of B driving license), and then it’s all over. Equipped with gloves and helmet, I make the acquaintance of my mount: a beautiful Super Soco 50cc vintage-style green electric motorcycle!

I am under the spell, I listen carefully to all the well detailed instructions, make a round trip to warm up. Nothing complicated, let’s go, let’s go for the adventure! Uh, but where are we going? We are in the center of Selestat with nearly 100km of autonomy… We will take the time to look at the routes proposed on the site and especially to be guided by the signs, the old way! You can choose to stay on the “Route des Vins” or go all the way to the ” Route des Crêtes“.

Electric motorcycle ride on the Wine Route
Heading for Châtenois and the pretty villages of the Alsace Wine Route on the way to Haut-Koenigsbourg through the twists and turns of a forest road, I gain confidence and vary modes 1-2-3, easily reaching 45km/h or even 60km/h on the downhill sections.
It seems reasonable compared to other motorized vehicles, but you still feel like a nobody when you get passed by an SUV. In any case, it’s a pleasure to smell the trees and not the gasoline of one’s bike, to rub shoulders with the cyclists and to greet the “real” bikers with a small gesture!

To complete the loop, after Thannenkirch I follow the wine route in futuristic mode, with many photo stops. I could have pushed on to Ribeauvillé, but the 4-hour option is already a rush of emotions!
With trembling legs and a smile on your face, I invite you to test the electric motorcycle in a romantic duo or with friends and to follow Wattrider in its development of a 0 carbon offer!
