Spa de la Colline at the Bollenberg Hotel

As you know, I love spas in Alsace! And just as well, we've got a great wellness offering in Alsace. I went to test the Spa de la Colline, which is the spa of the Hôtel Bollenberg in Westhalten.

My summary

  • Small but brand new and very pleasant spa
  • Bathrobe, slippers, towels and shower gel provided
  • Location and view
  • I could not judge the buffet
  • Pool a little too cold

An idyllic situation

Westhalten is located near Rouffach (roughly between Colmar and Mulhouse) and the hotel on the Bollenberg hill.

An idyllic location, on the Route des Vins and in the heart of a Natura 2000 reserve, offering stunning panoramic views of the surrounding area.

It’s a very quiet place, ideal for spending a day at a spa: it’s soothing and immediately sets the mood!

Different formulas

The spa at the Hotel Bollenberg is open to external guests aged 16 and over. Several formulas are available:

  • Découverte, which includes 3 hours’ access to the spa
  • Sunrise, including breakfast buffet and 3-hour access to the spa
  • Day Spa, which includes all-day spa access and a three-course Spa menu
  • Côté Plaine, which includes 3-hour access to the 3-hour spa and a three-course à la carte menu at the “Côté Plaine” restaurant (dinner Tuesday to Saturday or lunch Saturday & Sunday)

For my part, I opted for the discovery package and therefore did not test the catering.

A pretty little spa

The spa is a lovely little cocoon that encourages relaxation.

It includes:

  • a salt grotto with two hydraulic mattress beds (I love it)
  • a Physiotherm cabin (a heated cabin, which I didn’t really love, but that’s up to each individual)
  • a hammam
  • two saunas (Tonneau and Finnish)
  • an indoor pool with a few jets
  • an outdoor Jacuzzi
  • an outdoor swimming pool open in summer
  • a reading area (with herbal tea, books and magazines: very pleasant).

As is often the case, I found that the pool wasn’t warm enough to lounge in (I think I’m cold!). In any case, I had a great time at the spa, where I spent a whole afternoon.
