1. Hiking

If you like hiking, the Pays de Phalsbourg is a little paradise! The Club Vosgien is very active in the area and has marked out many paths. The area is particularly beautiful, with trails through the forest, imposing pink sandstone rocks and superb panoramas. The tourist office offers a lot of ideas of itineraries in loops to choose according to your level and your desires. I have for example tested a superb hike around Dabo that I recommend you.

2. Mountain biking

The Pays de Phalsbourg is also full of mountain bike trails. Several mountain bike circuits are marked out and will be suitable for various levels. Overall, there will always be a little bit of difference in altitude but the paths are more or less technical depending on the circuit. All you have to do is get on your bike and go discover these superb itineraries!

3. Climb Rocher de Dabo

It is impossible to come to this corner of Moselle without going to see the amazing Rocher de Dabo, a really impressive rocky spur that allows you to enjoy an incredible view of the surroundings.

4. Go for a bike ride

I have already talked about mountain biking and hiking, but cycling is not to be outdone! There are several cycle paths in the area, including the EurovĂ©lo 5, which runs along the Canal de la Marne au Rhin. Here you will find ideas for itineraries and I advise you to go and discover the very beautiful VallĂ©e des Eclusiers by bike. Don’t have a bike? No problem, you can rent VTC from JĂ©rĂ´me de VĂ©location.

5. Go for a run

If you like to run in the nature, the Pays de Phalsbourg is a particularly pleasant place: the grounds are soft, the paths are very varied with a lot of nice single tracks and the panoramas are magnificent! Really nice for trail lovers, I loved it!

6. Discover Lutzelbourg castle

The Castle of Lutzelbourg is a must when you visit the region of Phalsbourg. The ruins of this castle are made of pink sandstone and dominate the valley and the canal from the Marne to the Rhine, it is magnificent! A beautiful and peaceful place to come for a walk and admire the view.

7. Visit the Saint-Louis Arzviller inclined plane

The Saint-Louis Arzviller inclined plane is also a must-see around Dabo and Phalsbourg. This boat elevator is really impressive and worth a visit! To be combined with the summer sled of the inclined plane if you are with your family.

8. Visit artists and craftspeople

There is a really interesting business cluster in Lutzelburg: the Konzett Cluster is a former staple factory which is now home to both companies and creative people. If many of them are not visited by the general public (they are offices or workshops), some have stores like La Casa Natur’L or l’Atelier des Curieux. It’s really worth a visit, especially since enthusiastic enthusiasts will always welcome you! In Lutzelbourg, don’t hesitate to stop by Tisabora, where you will also be very well received and will be able to discover the creations of Sarah and Thibault.

9. Visit Cristallerie Lehrer

The crystal works of Lorraine are famous and it would be a shame not to take advantage of your stay to visit one. I recommend a visit to the Cristallerie Lehrer, where you can watch crystal-makers at work every day: it’s truly impressive to admire their skills… It’s beautiful and you can stay for a long time without getting bored! Then, of course, you can go to the store for some shopping.

10. Treat yourself to Les Douceurs des Rohan

If you have a sweet tooth, do not miss the Douceurs des Rohan, a confectionery in Lutzelbourg which received a prize for its marshmallows (elected best in the world and really delicious, I confirm it!) and also proposes chocolate and fruit jellies.

Where to sleep in the Pays de Phalsbourg?

If you come to the Pays de Phalsbourg, I can recommend two accommodations that I liked very much: the Hameau des Sens and the Gîte de la Loge du Pic Noir.
