Spa de la Colline at the Bollenberg Hotel

I went to test the Spa de la Colline, which is the spa of theHotel Bollenberg in Westhalten. Westhalten is located near Rouffach (between Colmar and Mulhouse roughly) and the hotel is located on the Bollenberg hill. An idyllic location, on the Wine Route and in the heart of a Natura 2000 reserve, which allows you to enjoy a beautiful panoramic view of the surroundings. It’s a very quiet place, ideal to spend a day in a spa: it’s soothing, it puts you in the mood right away!

The spa of the Bollenberg Hotel is open to external guests. Several packages can be chosen: the Day Spa, which includes access to the spa and a buffet, then different packages in which a treatment is added and even a package including a wine tasting! Yes, we are in Alsace 😉

I only tested the basic Day Spa formula. It gives access to the spa all day long and to a buffet. When I was there, however, there were not enough people for them to prepare a buffet and so we had a cold plate (cold cuts, cheese and raw vegetables, but they will prepare something else if you don’t like meat for example) and a dessert. It’s basic but correct. The dining room is not decorated in a very cheerful way for my taste but has on the other hand a superb view on the surroundings.

The spa is a small spa that has been completely renovated recently: it is really pretty, it is a beautiful little cocoon inciting to relaxation. It has a salt grotto with two hydraulic mattress beds (I love it), a Physiotherm cabin (a heated cabin, which I didn’t love for the time being, but it depends on each person), a hammam, a sauna, a pool with some jets and a reading area (with herbal tea, books and magazines: super nice). As is often the case, I found that the pool wasn’t warm enough to lounge in (I think I’m cold!). In any case, I had a great time at the spa, where I spent a whole afternoon.
