Bed and Breakfast in Alsace – My favorite charming addresses

by | Updated on 7/11/2023 | Guesthouses, Must read | 0 comments

Are you looking for a nice bed and breakfast in Alsace? It is sometimes difficult to find the best deals in terms of accommodation as there are so many different guest houses. To help you, here is the list of my favorite B&Bs in Alsace. They are only charming guest houses that I went to test myself during one night and that I liked very much.

Each one has charm, a personality, an excellent breakfast, is held by adorable people and even proposes sometimes small services in more like a table of hosts (one likes to eat in Alsace, like in the rest of France!), a swimming pool, a jacuzzi, a spa
Good addresses of character in different price ranges that should help you spend a great weekend or stay! This list of guest houses is evolving: I add addresses as I discover them 🙂

If you prefer gites, don’t hesitate to consult my article dedicated to my favorite gites in Alsace.

Guest houses on the Alsace Wine Route

Maison d’Emilie – House with swimming pool and table d’hîtes

The Emilie’s house is a beautiful and charming guest house with swimming pool located in Pfaffenheim, south of Colmar and on the Alsace Wine Route. You will be warmly welcomed by Emilie and Guillaume in their renovated 17th century building. don’t miss the table d’hîtes, Guillaume is a chef and worked in starred restaurants before settling here!

Villa Elyane – Bed and Breakfast in Colmar

The Villa Elyane is a magnificent charming bed and breakfast in Colmar, capital of Alsace wines. It is located in a large house dating from 1925, whose decoration mixes Art Nouveau elements and more contemporary decor. It is very successful! You will be very well received by Florence and will be able to enjoy, in addition to your room, the incredible common areas of the house: games room, billiards, home cinema room, sauna
Yes, all this in a quiet area, a few minutes walk from the heart of downtown Colmar. Isn’t that beautiful?

Villa du Coteau – Bed and Breakfast in Obernai

room-panoramic-villa-coteau-obernai

The Villa du Coteau is a very nice bed and breakfast in Obernai. It is located on the heights of Obernai, a few minutes walk from the city center, in a house dating from the 19th century and which has been entirely renovated with taste, in a rather contemporary style. Nicolas and Hoby will welcome you warmly and will not hesitate to give you lots of advice to make your stay wonderful. What more could you ask for?

Unter der linde – An incredible Alsatian farm

Unter der linde is a charming bed and breakfast located in Nordheim, in the Kochersberg (west of Strasbourg), just north of the vineyards. It is located in an incredible building: the wine farm dates from the 17th century and has been incredibly renovated little by little by its owner, who is passionate about the conservation of the buildings of Alsace. The result is there, every square meter of this authentic house is an enchantment! You will be welcomed by the friendly Catherine and will be able to enjoy the pleasant garden during your stay.

Bed and breakfast in Alsace, mountain side

The Ecrins – Between the Vosges and the Wine Route

The guest house Les Ecrins could actually belong to the category “for those who hesitate between a room in the mountains and in the vineyard”. Located in Orbey, it’s really in between the two: on one side, you have easy access to the Lac Blanc resort. On the other hand, you are in Kaysersberg, famous village of the Alsace Wine Route! Les Ecrins is located in a beautiful 1900’s building that has been completely renovated with great taste. Impossible not to feel good there, especially considering the warm welcome of SĂ©bastien and Patrick and their delicious table d’hĂŽtes, featuring Alsatian specialties. As a bonus, you can enjoy a jacuzzi on the terrace

Bed and breakfast near Strasbourg

Here are some beautiful and charming guest houses near Strasbourg.

At the Freysz Farm – Sleeping in a beautiful Alsatian farm

farm-freysz-quatzenheim

Here is a superb guest house located at my neighbors’, 15km from Strasbourg! At the Freysz Farm you will sleep in very comfortable guest rooms which have been completely redone and are located in a beautiful typical Alsatian farm. As a bonus, you will be welcomed by Philippe, an Alsace enthusiast who will share his knowledge with you! A great address to live a real Alsatian experience 🙂

A summer evening – Contemporary art in an Alsatian farm near Strasbourg

room-rietveld-soir-ete

Un Soir d’EtĂ© is two guest rooms and a studio located in Ernolsheim-Bruche, near Strasbourg and close to the beginning of the Alsace Wine Route. A charming place, exotic and quite surprising because one finds in old Alsatian farm of the 18th century a very “vintage” decoration. Ideal for a romantic weekend!

La VallĂ©e Guest House – Old Alsatian farmhouse and meals

la-vallee-kuttolsheim-host-house

The guest house La VallĂ©e is located in Kuttolsheim, in the Kochersberg (west of Strasbourg). It is an old renovated farmhouse that Caroline, a Briton, and Patrick, an Alsatian, fell in love with. The rooms are located in independent houses, which gives the impression of being a little between the cottage and the room. They are all tastefully decorated and full of Caroline’s little attentions: one could almost hesitate between visiting the region and staying and enjoying it! The proposed table d’hĂŽtes is also delicious.

Les Volets Bleus – “Home-like” atmosphere

I finish with a house that I know particularly well
Since it’s mine, called Les Volets Bleus! I have indeed rooms in my half-timbered house in Quatzenheim, in the Kochersberg (20 minutes west of Strasbourg). Our rooms are located on the 2nd floor of the house: the floor is dedicated to you but you are really at home, can use our kitchen and enjoy the garden
A configuration that allows us to remain autonomous while favoring the exchange and allows our guests to feel like at home 🙂 And of course, I love talking about Alsace and giving good advice to visitors!

Other guest houses in Alsace (Haut-Rhin and Bas-Rhin)

These accommodations are not located on the Wine Route or in the mountains: this does not mean that they are worse than the previous ones! Their location is also interesting and sometimes even allows to be a little more quiet

Carpe Diem Guest House in Selestat – Families welcome and nice spa

jacuzzi-spa-carpe-diem

The Carpe Diem Guest House is a bed and breakfast with spa located in SĂ©lestat, a city in Alsace which is not the most touristic but which I like very much and which has a rather ideal location when you want to visit the region! The rooms can accommodate families or couples for a rather romantic stay with spa, as you wish! With its Jacuzzi, hammam and rest room, this small spa is worthy of a hotel. We do not forget the table d’hĂŽtes and the very good breakfast highlighting local specialties.

Domaine des Remparts in SĂ©lestat – Sharing and conviviality

domain-remparts-selestat

The Domaine des Remparts offers bed and breakfast and gĂźtes in SĂ©lestat. The rooms are located in an old Alsatian building and can accommodate all types of customers (couples, families, groups, people with reduced mobility
). Jacky and Marie make it a point of honor! Their friendly attitude is also reflected in the table d’hĂŽtes, where they quickly succeed in making everyone feel at ease. As a bonus, we enjoy ourselves!
