Hotel 48° Nord in Breitenbach – Hotel with romantic spa

For an unusual and romantic weekend in Alsace, we recommend the Hotel 48° Nord. Its beautiful Scandinavian-style wooden cabins blend in perfectly with the surrounding nature, and you can enjoy saunas, jacuzzis and nordic baths while admiring the panoramic view of the surroundings. A favorite for a wellness weekend that could be adapted to a honeymoon!

La Cheneaudière in Colroy la Roche – For a relaxing weekend

It’s impossible to talk about a romantic weekend in Alsace without mentioning L’Hostellerie La Cheneaudière, a 5-star hotel with the Relais & Châteaux label, and its incredible spa. We are fortunate to have many beautiful spas in the area, but I must admit that this one is my favorite. I love the atmosphere that emanates from it and its perfect integration with the surrounding nature.

The hotel itself is also very nice, located in a beautiful natural setting and very comfortable. You can also enjoy its excellent restaurant. Beautiful hotel, delicious dinner, breakfast and spa, what could be better for a romantic weekend, right?

Le Hameau des Sens in Phalsbourg, Lorraine – Relaxation in Eastern France

The Hameau des Sens is located in Phalsbourg, in Lorraine, right next to the border with Alsace. It is an ideal place for a romantic interlude since you will be lodged in a beautiful wooden chalet with all comforts and a private Nordic bath on its terrace and installed on a telluric well, facing meadows. A very nice unusual accommodation!

On site, you can enjoy Ayurvedic massages, have your dinner and breakfast delivered and book special packages for lovers with champagne, flowers and chocolate. You will be in a pleasant cocoon to enjoy your stay!

Auberge Saint-Laurent in Sierentz – A romantic treat for two

I love the Auberge Saint-Laurent, discovered during a bike trip, and which is a perfect place to take your lover. It is a real little haven of peace, with a friendly atmosphere, a charming decoration and a swimming pool to relax.

Don’t miss the restaurants on site: you can choose between the Auberge Saint-Laurent, a starred restaurant, or the Winstub A côté, which also offers excellent cuisine. In short, you can’t go wrong 🙂

Hôtel Le Moulin à Gundershoffen – Perfect moment for a couple

If someone talks to me about a romantic stay in Alsace, I inevitably think of Hotel Le Moulin in Gundershoffen, in the north of Alsace, just at the entrance of the Vosges du Nord Regional Nature Park.

Le Moulin is a little jewel where time stands still: between the charming Alsatian buildings, the pleasant garden and the stream crossing the domain, it is at the same time magnificent, relaxing… And romantic, of course!

The restaurant is also of high quality and you can easily do things in the area during the weekend

Château d’Isenbourg in Rouffach

The Castle of Isenbourg in Rouffach, between Colmar and Mulhouse, is a 4 star hotel. This is the place where I chose to celebrate one of my wedding anniversaries. It’s a beautiful place: imagine a château overlooking the vineyards, allowing you to admire the beauty of the Alsatian landscape…

The decoration of the rooms allows you to really immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the castle and you can also enjoy a small spa, as well as a restaurant on site. In addition, the castle offers special packages including certain services, such as a bottle of champagne in your room for example.

La Cour du Corbeau in Strasbourg

Strasbourg is a romantic city par excellence, so treat yourself to an overnight stay in the magnificent Cour du Corbeau (crow’s court)!

I admit, by name it does not make you dream, but once seen and lived, it is an incredible memory that will evoke you this name. Here there are no crows (a few pigeons at best!) but a splendid 16th century building with traditional Alsatian half-timbering – renovated with style – in the heart of the city, on the quai des Bateliers.

It was even elected best hotel in France a few years ago on Tripadvisor, so you won’t take any risks (accommodation wise!) for the wedding proposal 😉

Le Parc in Obernai – For a romantic weekend away

I discovered the Hotel du Parc thanks to the Etoiles d’Alsace formula. This 4 star hotel is located in the beautiful town of Obernai, south of Strasbourg, and we were not disappointed! The rooms are spacious, classic but with quite diverse touches: Asian, art deco, Alsatian…

The hotel du Parc has a beautiful spa: the Yonaguni Spa, which I recommend you to try, it is really incredible.

As for the breakfast, it is pantagruelic! Yes yes, the word fits very well: there are buffets in several places in the large room of the restaurant as well as a self-service counter where all the hot dishes are waiting for us. This is one of the best hotels in Obernai and Alsace!

Apartments 1834 & Spa

Looking for a romantic stay in Colmar? I advise you Apartments 1834 & Spa, 11 apartments each decorated with a different theme and located in downtown Colmar. The little (big) plus? The common spa in the basement: jacuzzi, hammam and sauna are waiting for you!

La Maison d’Emilie in Pfaffenheim- On the Wine Route

La Maison d’Emilie is a charming bed and breakfast located in an old 17th century building in Pfaffenheim, on the Alsace Wine Route. The rooms are all very nice and there is a nice pool to cool off in.

The table d’hôtes and the breakfast are really excellent. The chef is none other than the owner, who has worked in many starred restaurants around the world… This gives you an idea of the level! 😉

Le Colombier in Colmar – Beautiful hotel in the Alsace Wine Capital

If you’re looking for a romantic weekend in Colmar,Hotel le Colombier is a great option. Located in the heart of the Little Venice district, this is a charming 4 star hotel located in an old building and mixing in its decoration both old and more contemporary elements.

With this hotel in the center of Colmar, you can easily enjoy the city on foot: good restaurants and nice walks await you around the hotel!

Vine fishing in Rodern – On the Wine Route

Pêche de Vigne is a beautiful hotel located in an old wine farm on the Alsace Wine Route.

The building is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and very comfortable and you can enjoy the nice outdoor pool and spa area. You will be able to book a duo massage for example…

As for meals, breakfast is excellent and varied and you can book a dinner prepared by a local caterer. What a good time to spend with your partner!

Le Chambard in Kaysersberg – Luxury weekend on the Wine Route

I tried out Le Chambard, a 5* hotel in Kaysersberg, one of Alsace’s best-known villages, thanks to the Etoiles d’Alsace package. It is clearly a must in Alsace and even more so in love. It is located in a colorful Alsatian half-timbered building, romantic as can be and is clearly one of the best hotels in Kaysersberg!

From this beautiful experience, we retain the warm and classy welcome, the quality of the products served from breakfast to dinner and the spa! For a five star hotel, the welcome is not stuffy, you feel at home right away. We tested the Winstub which proposes Alsatian dishes with a little “star” touch, as well as the breakfast (in the same place) which honored the best regional products. What a joy to be able to bring home the homemade kouglof… Yum!

As for the spa, it remains relatively “simple” with a hammam, a sauna, a jacuzzi and a pool but with a nice menu of massages, my favorite sin during a romantic getaway!

Domaine du Hirtz in Wattwiller – A place to unwind

Want a 100% relaxing stay in the forest? Located near Wattwiller, the Domaine du Hirtz is an eco-tourism complex offering a complete package perfect for your romantic weekend.

The hostel will allow you to have dinner on site before spending your night closer to nature in one of their eco lodges.

A stay at the “Hirtz” would not be complete without a visit to the spa! Once again, nature has the place of honor and it is in the middle of trees and birds that you will discover these incredible installations (350m course and 12 buildings) of Nordic inspiration. A welcome breath of fresh air for anyone looking for a break.

The location is particularly conducive to walking (botanical path and waterfall nearby) and hiking (at the foot of the Vieil-Armand), both of which are pleasant preliminaries to the spa! In addition to the seasons and their natural charm, many events take place throughout the year and enliven this timeless place.

Hotel Dollenberg in Bad Peterstal-Griesbach, Germany – Wellness weekend

Change of atmosphere, here it’s luxury the German way! Nestled in the beautiful curved valleys of the Black Forest, this famous Relais & Châteaux establishment will offer you everything you need to think of nothing else but your loved one.

You could clearly spend your time in the unique spa, but if you feel like getting away from it all, there are small and large hiking trails that will satisfy you; the establishment even has a typical chalet to enjoy, the Renchtalhütte, a few kilometers away.

Also, less than 30 minutes away by car, you can take the time to discover and support the Alternative Wolf and Bear Park Black Forest, an amazing “retirement home” for abused bears and wolves. Finally, a trip to the Mummelsee lake will convince you of this little corner of paradise!

Les Ecrins à Orbey – Bed and breakfast with jacuzzi

Les Ecrins– a name that promises a great weekend, doesn’t it? Les Ecrins are beautiful guest rooms located in a mansion in Orbey, close to Kaysersberg and the mountains. A very nice location!

The rooms, all on the theme of a precious stone, are charming, comfortable. You will be very well received by Sébastien and Patrick, who will also prepare a great breakfast for you!

As a bonus, you can enjoy a moment together in the jacuzzi as well as a duo massage. Perfect, right?

Unter der Linde in Nordheim – A moment out of time

Do you like old buildings full of history and half-timbered houses? Meet at the guesthouse Unter der Linde, located in a sublime Alsatian farm in Nordheim, between Strasbourg and the beginning of the Alsace Wine Route.

You will be accommodated in beautiful and spacious rooms decorated in a traditional Alsatian spirit and will enjoy a good breakfast served in the stub (the typical living room of Alsatian houses) or on the terrace. A moment out of time!

A summer evening in Ernolsheim-Bruche

Here are some very cute guest rooms to spend a romantic stay, in a zen environment ! Un Soir d’été is located in Ernolsheim-Bruche, a village west of Strasbourg and near the beginning of the Wine Route.

I fell in love with these guest rooms for the so 60’s and 70’s atmosphere which reigns in this Alsatian farm of the 18th century and for the designers put in the honor in each of the accommodations, 2 rooms and a studio. I chose the Rietveld room in particular for its decoration, inspired by Mondrian and the Aubette in Strasbourg, and for the open-plan bedroom and bathroom.

The breakfast was rather simple compared to more luxurious hotels but it included local or organic products. The owner, Nathalie, also offers courses, yoga sessions and ayurvedic massages that we may try next time?

Villa Elyane in Colmar

Villa Elyane is a beautiful bed and breakfast in Colmar, located 15 minutes walk from the city center and right next to the train station. It is a superb building dating from the beginning of the 20th century, with beautiful volumes and interior elements of various styles, such as a superb Art Nouveau staircase.

The complex is really successful and offers exceptional services: lounge, billiard room, games, home cinema and sauna are waiting for you… In addition to a delicious breakfast to start the day!

Maison d’hôtes du Parc at Ronchamp in the southern Vosges mountains

For this address, we leave Alsace in the direction of the Southern Vosges for the romanticism in the nature at only one hour from Mulhouse!

Nestled in a rural area about 20 minutes from Belfort, stay in a genuine 19th century mansion run by a warm and very attentive duo. On the small river side or on the large garden side, the 5 rooms each have their own style, carefully chosen; my favorite is Le rivage!

For the evening meal, you will have the option of local cuisine at “le Rhien” or deliciously good food at “Cook” (ask for the theme, the time I was there it was “farm in the mountains” there was hay on the floor, surprising but great!)

For the activities around, don’t miss the famous and unique Chapel of Ronchamp (architecture of the Corbusier 50’s) as well as the Little Finland and the Auberge des Milles Etangs.

Les Fermes de Pinpin in Labaroche – Atypical and charming

We’ve fallen in love with Les Fermes de Pinpin, comprising several gîtes. For a romantic stay, I advise you to opt for the Fermette (small farm) or the Maison troglodyte troglodyte house), which are both small cocoons where it is good to curl up.

The decoration is made of elements lovingly found by Guy and is really successful. As a bonus, we can enjoy a pleasant outdoor swimming pool in the summer.

The place is ideal for a real nature break: we are in the middle of the Vosges mountains, it is an absolutely magnificent setting! All you have to do is go out for a walk and enjoy the beauty of the place. The Wine Route, with Kaysersberg in particular, is not far either.

Gîtes les Remparts de Riquewihr

Les Remparts de Riquewihr are magnificent gîtes located in the heart of the charming village of Riquewihr, on the Alsace Wine Route, in a completely renovated 16th-century building.

They are tastefully decorated in a traditional Alsatian style and offer very nice amenities. These are places full of charm and where you will find everything you need to spend a wonderful romantic weekend!

Gîtes Griotte et Cannelle in Bergbieten

The Griotte and Cannelle appartments are located in Bergbieten, north of the Alsace Wine Route and not far from Strasbourg and Obernai, in an old renovated Alsatian farm.

The flats are small cocoons nicely decorated and equipped, which are perfect to spend a pleasant romantic weekend. You can walk to some wine tastings and walk or bike through the beautiful landscape of the area. The dream, right?

La Part des Anges – Bed and breakfast with large private spa

La Part des Anges in Fortsfeld, in northern Alsace near Soufflenheim, offers an exceptional experience for couples looking for a memorable stay. This unique bed and breakfast boasts a large private wellness area, with a swimming pool, Jacuzzi and sauna in the garden, offering a wonderful interlude for relaxation and disconnection.
