Map of our gourmet addresses
1. Erithaj Chocolat in the city center

Sometimes I wonder if I’m still being objective, because this is my favorite address… Erithaj is first and foremost a Strasbourg chocolatier who makes incredible pieces, but from Thursday to Saturday, the store also offers magnificent and delicious individual entremets. Desserts are available for takeaway only and in limited quantities.
Jasmine, yuzu, kumquat, matcha, lotus, rice: the chocolate pieces are inspired by Asia, as are the pastries, with their surprising combinations and tastes. From Vietnam to Alsace, the chef draws on his origins to create a delicious blend of flavors. At Erithaj there are permanent desserts and Signatures, ephemeral seasonal creations.
Arnaud Stengel is like our very own Cédric Grolet, just look at his trompe-l’œil like the mango or the cocoa pod! Lately I’ve been loving the barley malt entremet (signature) and for dried fruit fans like me, the Gourmand Noisette is a sure bet (and always available).
I liked
- The splendid pastries, creative, aesthetic and, of course, excellent.
- Signature desserts that change with the seasons and the highlights of the year
- Crazy work and selection of raw materials
- The team! Friendly, professional and always welcoming!
I liked less
- Nothing!

6 rue Brûlée, 67000 Strasbourg
2. Mokka – In the Halles district

Mokka is an organic bakery located in the Halles district. On one side, there’s the bakery and the counter, where you can take away bread and viennoiseries, savoury snacks and fine pastries. On the other, the tearoom, one of my favorites in Strasbourg.
A fine selection of organic pastries awaits gourmets: fine pastries, but also classics like éclairs or cookies, or trendy ones like croissants-cookies… and even Breton specialties like kouign-amann, since the owner is from Brittany!
For those with gluten and lactose intolerance, Mokka also has a few options for you to enjoy!
I liked
- A broad, ultra-complete offering (bakery-pastry shop, tearoom, restaurant, brunch)
- Wide opening hours (early mornings)
- Delicious pastries
- The tea room
- Online sales with click & collect
I liked less
- Closed on Sunday

3. Sébastien – On the Quai des Bateliers

At Sébastien’s, everything is a delight! Seasonal tarts, travel cakes like cakes and madeleines, entremets and classic desserts, from flan pâtissier to cracker eclairs… So many irresistible options!
In the mornings, people run there to treat themselves to an almond croissant, a doughnut or a brioche with sprinkles, in the hope of enjoying them on the spot with a good cup of coffee. This venue, though central and modest in size, fills up quickly, so it’s best to arrive early to secure a seat.
Located on the dynamic Quai des Bateliers, Sébastien offers a pleasant terrace in fine weather, where you can enjoy an ice cream (the café liégeois is a marvel!) or an iced tea while taking in the breathtaking view of the Palais Rohan.
I liked
- Nice selection of cakes and pastries
- Excellent pastries
- Wide opening hours (early mornings and Sundays)
I liked less
- Very touristy location, so crowded at weekends and whenever the weather’s nice.

4. Amande et Cannelle in the Halles district

Underestimated, a little withdrawn or simply less publicized than the city’s latest arrivals? This pastry shop, located in the Halles district, has been established in Strasbourg since 2003. Amande et Cannelle is unique in that it offers both Western pastries and Oriental cakes. Alsatian roots (the pastry chef was born in Colmar) and Oriental influences (his wife is Franco-Lebanese), an interesting mix that is reflected in the creations.
Classics like Flan Pâtissier, Tropézienne, Paris-Brest and seasonal pastries flirt with Makrout, Baklawas and gazelle horns. The signature dessert is the Beirut, a tartelette composed of a Lebanese flan, a pistachio financier, raspberries with notes of rosewater and orange blossom.
The store isn’t very big, but the pastries are beautifully displayed. There’s a small table outside, a long side table and a couple of high chairs inside, but they’re still very practical. The pastries are delicious, and the range is clearly top-of-the-range ! Amande et Cannelle also offers chocolates (in the shape of pretzels, a great idea), shortbread and other confectionery.
I liked
- A different kind of pastry
- Original, high-end creations
- The marriage of cultures and influences
- The charming staff and welcome
I liked less
- Prices a bit high, a really big difference between takeaway and on-site prices, ouch!
- The place is small, with only a few seats.
- The slice of pastry flan is a little rikiki
Practical information
8 Rue du Travail (entrance rue de Bouxwiller), 67000 Strasbourg
5. Caouette – Near Place Broglie

Caouette is a small pastry shop and tea room located on rue de la Fonderie, near Place Broglie, on Strasbourg’s Grande Île.
A cute place where you can enjoy the excellent pastries concocted by the owner of the place. After working for prestigious Parisian houses, Axelle decided to settle in Strasbourg. An opportunity for us Strasbourgeois!
It’s hard to choose among the pastries, each more tempting than the other, the gourmet cookies or the pastries… Once the choice is made, we enjoy ourselves: the pastries are of great finesse, with perfectly balanced flavors.
I liked
- Excellent pastries
- Cute tea room
I liked less
- Closed on Sunday and Monday

6. Maison Naegel in the historic center

Naegel is a Strasbourg institutionthat needs no introduction…Located in the classy Rue des Orfèvres, Naegel is a historic house. Easily spotted by the small crowds that regularly form in front of the store. And to the passers-by who stick their noses in the window, which is always well-stocked and colorful. And for good reason, the offers are very tempting.
There’s an impressive selection of individual pastries and entremets, cakes, pastries, tarts, desserts in verrines and a whole host of other delicacies. Lots of fruity creations, not forgetting savoury ones. Naegel offers more traditional desserts and local specialties such as chestnut torch and Linzer tart.
Classic fruit tarts, but always very tasty: blueberry, rhubarb meringue, quetsche… And I recommend the famous fromage blanc tart (Alsatian!) with blueberry compote, really delicious, generous, frothy as we like it and at a very reasonable price.
There are a few table-tops in the store, but Naegel is not a tea room.
I liked
- A wide selection of pastries, desserts, pastries and savoury products
- Alsatian classics, traditional fruit tarts that are simple but always work.
- Good quality/price ratio
- Always a pleasant welcome
I liked less
- A slightly old-school layout and décor
Practical information
9 rue des Orfèvres, 67000 Strasbourg
7. Pâtisserie GC – In the Neustadt

A slightly more discreet address on Avenue des Vosges in the heart of the Impérial district. Run by a young pastry chef, the GC patisserie is a fine showcase for finely chiselled sweet creations.
The store is elegant and uncluttered, with individual tarts and entremets displayed like little jewels. The tasting lives up to its promise: it’s as beautiful as it is delicious. We’d like to taste everything, but to choose is to give up. Viennoiseries, cookies and chocolates are also available.
The advantage of being off-center is that it’s less crowded, and you’re more likely to find a table to sit at.
I liked
- High-flying pastry-making, desserts that are both aesthetic and delicious
- The friendly welcome
- The tiny but very pretty tearoom.
- Wide opening hours (early mornings)
I liked less
- A little far from the center, though
- Avenue des Vosges and its traffic flow

8. Gare’mandise – Near Strasbourg station

A very good boulangerie-pâtisserie in the Gare district is rare enough to warrant a mention. And there’s no need to use a train to rob it. It’s also one of our favourite Strasbourg bakeries!
A multi-award-winning baker, organic speciality breads, original, high-quality viennoiseries and desserts – the die is cast. There’s also plenty of seating for breakfast and snacks.
I’m particularly fond of their viennoiseries and T’choux t’choux, at least as much for the pun as for these delicious, crunchy, plump little things.
I liked
- Mouth-watering traditional pastries
- reative pastries
- Plenty of room to land
- Open mornings and 7/7
I liked less
- The less sexy neighborhood…but no surprise, we’re right across from the train station.
9. Pâtisserie Valentin in Neudorf

Neudorf lacked a really good patisserie ! But since Valentin set up shop on route du Polygone , replacing a rather sad bakery, we’ve also got our own address in the neighborhood. A good reason to stop by and sample his delicious creations.
Valentin the young pastry chef creates pretty chocolate or fruity tarts, super gourmet cookies, cakes, ice creams in summer and very good crunchy and buttery viennoiseries. The blue-toned tearoom is cosy, modern and rather spacious, so it’s nice to be able to relax here during the day for a snack or on market days. And prices that match quality!
I liked
- Delicious pastries and viennoiseries
- Good value for money
- The team and the welcome are always very friendly
- The pretty tearoom in the heart of the Neudorf district
I liked less
- Nothing!

101 Route du Polygone, 67100 Strasbourg

10. Helterlé patisserie and chocolate factory, Cronenbourg

The concentration is high, but good patisseries aren’t limited to the city center: there are also some very good addresses on the outskirts. This family-run patisserie is located in the north-west Cronenbourg district, and is well worth the 10-minute streetcar ride. just a 10-minute walk from Place Kléber (Rotonde stop)!
There’s plenty of choice in the (rotunda-shaped?) display case. Helterlé offers original entremets and pretty, fruity tarts with a pleasant twist of aromatics such as verbena and basil, or tonka bean. It’s hard to choose, but I’d recommend the red fruit and basil tartlet. It’s fresh and colorful, it’s crunchy, it’s really good!
Clean, elegant, gourmet, the classics (Mille-feuille, St Honoré, Forêt-Noire, éclairs) are really well executed and crafted. Pastries are available to take away. If you make the effort to move around, you’ll be sorry there aren’t a few stand-up tables.
I liked
- Excellent products, as good as they are beautiful! Classics really well mastered.
- Very good quality-price ratio
- Lovely welcome!
I liked less
- Local pastry shop, out of the way, few parking spaces
- For immediate tasting, there’s not really anywhere to set down on site or in the surrounding area.
