Best hotels in Strasbourg – My 15 favorite addresses

by | Updated on 7/02/2024 | Hotels, Must read, Strasbourg | 0 comments

Are you looking for a nice hotel in Strasbourg? It is sometimes difficult to find the good plans as there are so many different ones. It’s hard to tell you the best hotels in Strasbourg but, to help you, here is the list of my favorite hotels in Strasbourg.

Each one has charm, personality, a good breakfast and sometimes even offers little extras like a restaurant, a spa, an unusual patio, exhibitions… Good addresses of character in different price ranges that should help you spend a great weekend or stay in Alsace! This list of hotels is evolving: I add new addresses as I discover them. 🙂

Another word of advice: be careful when booking, as hotel rates soar in Strasbourg during parliamentary sessions(click here to see the calendar). Avoid these periods if you can to benefit from more attractive rates!

If you prefer gîtes and B&Bs (and want to get out of Strasbourg!), I’ve written two articles dedicated to my favorite addresses for gîtes in Alsace and charming B&Bs in Alsace. Here is also an article dedicated to romantic accommodation ideas in Alsace.

Maison Rouge – 5 star luxury hotel with spa

maison-rouge

The Maison Rouge hotel is an institution in Strasbourg as it is one of the oldest hotels in the city. This 5-star hotel with spa is ideally located in the heart of the city center, right next to Place Kléber, and decorated in art deco style with traditional Alsatian elements.

With its 150m2 spa featuring wine therapy, its bar and restaurant, it will suit those who have an occasion to celebrate and want to do so in a beautiful establishment in Strasbourg! Ideal for a wellness weekend in love…

4 star hotels in Strasbourg

Hotel Tandem – Ecological and design

tandem-hotel

The Tandem hotel is an ecological hotel in Strasbourg, which proves that it is possible to combine respect for the environment, comfort and design! This ecological commitment is reflected in the cleaning products, the breakfast (home-made, organic and local products are waiting for you!) as well as in many small details.

It is located near the train station: not the sexiest corner of the city, but very well placed since it is close to the train station but also to Petite France.

As a bonus, the rates are reasonable: a really good value for money!

Hotel Rohan in Strasbourg – Contemporary atmosphere in the heart of the city

hotel-rohan
The Hotel Rohan in Strasbourg is a 4 star hotel, located at the foot of the cathedral. It’s a nice place to stay and a great place to visit the city!

The interior of the hotel lives up to its facade, with a contemporary decoration that is both neat and warm. The service is also very pleasant. My only (small) regret, the buffet is copious and appetizing, but is a little disappointing on the quality of products, even if it remains correct (I’m difficult, eh!).

Boma Hotel – Ethnic chic boutique hotel

boma-hotel

The Boma is a very nice hotel well located in the center of Strasbourg. The citizens of Strasbourg know it well because they come there easily to have a meal, to work during the day or to have a drink in the evening.

Its ethnic chic decoration is really successful and contributes to the comfort and warm atmosphere of the establishment. A good address in the capital of Europe!

Hôtel des Haras – Charming hotel in the former national stud farm of Alsace

haras-strasbourg

Les Haras is a 4 star hotel located in the buildings of the former National Stud in Strasbourg. The decoration is contemporary and elegant with some elements reminding the equestrian past of the place. As a bonus, the hotel has a beautiful spa created in partnership with the brand Nuxe, for those who love well-being.

Also, don’t miss the award-winning, delicious restaurant at the Hotel Les Haras (one of my favorite restaurants in Strasbourg).

Hotel Cour du Corbeau – MGallery – Romantic at will

cour-corbeau

The Hotel Cour du Corbeau is one of Strasbourg’s institutions. It is one of the oldest hotels in Europe! What makes it special? It is located in a sublime complex of buildings dating from the Renaissance: lovers of old architecture, this should please you! Very well located in the center of Strasbourg, it is a hotel with a really cosy and elegant atmosphere which has seen a lot of wedding proposals… 😉

Hotel Hannong – Hotel with rooftop

hotel-hannong

The Hannong Hotel is a 4 star hotel ideally located in the heart of the Grande Île of Strasbourg while being 5 minutes walk from the train station.

It’s a charming place with a warm decoration, which is also known by the inhabitants of Strasbourg for its beautiful terrace on the roof and its wine bar. Not to be missed if you stay there!

Okko Hotel – On the André Malraux peninsula

okko-hotel

The Okko Hotel is located in a rather special place, since it is not in the city center of Strasbourg but not far from it (10 minutes on foot). It is located on the André Malraux peninsula, a place I like very much.

Ideal for those who want a 4 star hotel a little less expensive than in the center, while enjoying good quality services, or simply those who like to discover neighborhoods a little more off the beaten path. In terms of decoration, the style of the establishment is sober and contemporary.

3 star hotels in Strasbourg

Hotel Graffalgar in Strasbourg – Urban art and good value for money

graffalgar

The Graffalgar Hotel in Strasbourg is a modern and innovative hotel located just 5 minutes from the train station. Not the most beautiful neighborhood but ultra convenient, a stone’s throw from Petite France (and the train station, of course!).

The concept? Each room has been decorated by a different local artist. The style is urban, it’s like having a piece of street art in each room! The hotel also regularly hosts exhibitions. More than just a hotel, the Graffalgar is a real place of life that I love and where I go regularly! As an added bonus, the price-quality ratio is really excellent.

Hotel Arok – Baroque atmosphere

hotel-arok

Another hotel located just in front of the train station: it’s not the most beautiful area but it’s very convenient because you can get to the train station in two minutes while being very close to the city center (Petite France is only 5 minutes away on foot).

Hotel Arok is an excellent choice, it is comfortable and has a very nice baroque decoration, all for a reasonable price.

Hotel Le Chut – For a romantic stay

hotel-chut

Here is an almost secret address: the hotel Le Chut is located in the heart of Petite France but in a building slightly set back. The pretty rooms with exposed beams of the hotel Chut offer an intimate setting ideal to enjoy the visit of Strasbourg while being quiet!

The place is full of charm and the restaurant very good. Feel free to dine on the terrace of the hotel restaurant, with a view on the river 🙂

Hotel Suisse in Strasbourg – Traditional atmosphere at the foot of the cathedral

hotel-suisse

The Hotel Suisse de Strasbourg is a two star hotel located in the city center of Strasbourg, at the foot of the cathedral.

The decoration of the rooms (which are rather spacious) is in the traditional Alsatian style, with wood and kelsch (checked fabrics). It will please the amateurs of traditional cosy atmospheres.

The breakfast buffet offers excellent products such as delicious cheeses and Christophe Felder’s famous kougelhopf (which is one of the best in Strasbourg in my opinion!).

Hotel Origami – Good value for money

hotel-origami

The Origami Hotel is located outside the city center, in the Cronenbourg district. It is a good choice for those who want to pay a little less than in the center of the city and still have quality services or those who want to get out of the tourist areas.

It is also convenient if you come by car, as you will find a free parking lot 400m from the hotel (free parking lots are rare in Strasbourg). To get to the city center, a tramway will take you there in only 10 minutes from the Rotonde station located just a few steps away. A good value for money!

2 star hotel in Strasbourg

Hotel Etc in Strasbourg – Cheap and very good!

hotel-etc

The Etc Hotel in Strasbourg is a 2 star hotel located in the city center, on the Grande Île. It is a very simple hotel but with all the necessary comforts: the quality-price ratio is excellent.

It is located a few minutes walk from the cathedral, the Petite France and the Place Kléber. The decoration is also very nice.

The breakfast is simple, but quite complete. The jams served are for example the excellent Confitures du Climont, produced in Alsace and several times awarded!

Hostel in Strasbourg

The people hostel- Stylish youth hostel

people-hostel

The people hostel is a very stylish hostel. It is located in an old tobacco factory, completely renovated, in the very nice district of the Krutenau in the center of Strasbourg. As a bonus, it has a beautiful terrace.

You can book a bed in a dormitory, but also double or family rooms. Ideal to stay in a great setting at a low price!
